Green Court was initiated by Luke Padfield and has been developed with support from Artlink, UN House Scotland and Scottish Environment Link.
The Green Court is an improvised, interactive, moot environmental court. We discuss
fictional examples of environmental issues based on real-life situations in a mock
courtroom setting. This first session of the Green Court will address the issue of air
pollution in Edinburgh.

The event took place at The Scottish Storytelling Centre and was well attended by participants with an interest in Environmental issues and the law.
Each side’s argument was presented by a pair of counsels.
The counsels’ dress, court banner and sign were designed and made by Curious Routes group members in our Eco Printing workshop.
The judge listened to both sides arguments and the court took a short break before revealing the final decision.
Luke envisioned this event as the first in a series about this pressing subject and we will publish more events as they happen in future. We thank everyone who took part in this project and hope to keep in touch and gradually expand this interest group.
