Curious Routes met last week at ESW research space to look back at what we have been up to this far, discuss ideas and talk about what we want to work towards with new artist to the project Donna Rutherford.

We asked Donna to come and join the project because she has a unique way of finding out about people’s personal stories and finds imaginative and engaging ways of telling these stories to a captive audience.
In the talks at ESW, people had spoken about wanting to find out more about other people’s specific interests so that conversation inspired this week’s show and tell. Louise talked about her passion for Patti Smith poetry, song writing and the way her performances are captured through documentary photography. Vic talked about her passion for Island bagging around Scotland and the far east and the way she documents these, often solo, journeys through drawings, sketches, collage, photography and text in beautiful journals and sketch books.
Lee talked about his new interest in table tennis, he’s started playing an an open air concrete table tennis table in King George V park (Eyre Place). We were intrigued, so we decided to go down there and check it out, had a knock about and played a few rounds of ping-pong.
