The Collective gallery have just opened it’s doors to it’s new home on Calton hill on Edinburgh’s iconic City Observatory site. A few of us brave enough to battle the horizontal rains and winds on top of the hill that day went to go check it out.
We chattered to Katie Reynolds the learning producer and Brooke Milliken a creative trainee about Collective’s new home, their continued vision, our shared interests, collaborations and artwork.
Their Affinity and Allusion opening exhibition features new work spanning sculpture, installation, performance, audio work and text by six artists chosen specially for the opening; James Hutchinson, Tessa Lynch, Klaus Weber, Dineo Seshee Bopape, Alexandra Laudo and Catherine Payton.

While warming up with a hot chocolate cupped around our hands in their wee education space, we chattered to Katie and Brooke about the way Curious Routes work, our recent and current protects, the unfairness of the current Personal independent Payments (PIP) system and our shared interests. We started conversations around the idea of potentially working together to create a series of creative events… So watch this space!
